Musicians - Lorenzo Cavasanti
Recorder player and flautist Lorenzo Cavasanti studied recorder
with F. Brüggen and K. Boeke, and received his Diploma in Milan
with P. Memelsdorff.
A founding member of Tripla Concordia, Lorenzo Cavasanti has earned an international reputation as a master of style, playing as a concerto soloist and also with many other leading ensembles and orchestras, such as Le Concert des Nations (J. Savall), I Sonatori della Gioiosa Marca, Accademia Bizantina (O. Dantone), Janas ensemble (P. Erdas), Accademia del Ricercare, Ensemble Il Falcone, Orchestra Teatro La Scala - Milano (dir. Riccardo Muti).
He has appeared in the most prestigious venues and festivals, performing in 2000 at the Konzerthaus in Vienna and at the "BBC Proms" at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
In the 1998 Tripla Concordia recording of Bach and Telemann's flute
and recorder sonatas for the Spanish label Cantus ("R" from Repertoire,
"Magistral" by The Record Geijutsu, Japan) he was widely acclaimed
for his extraordinary sound quality and his "perfect technique"
(Alte Musik Aktuell). Together with the violinist and conductor
Fabio Biondi he recorded the six Triosonatas by G. Ph. Telemann,
and has made two CDs for Virgin Classics in which, accompanied by
Europa Galante, he plays two Vivaldi recorder concertos - "La Notte"
and "La Tempesta di Mare" - and the obbligato flute in J. S. Bach
Cantatas BWV 55 and 82b (Diapason d'or, Gramophone Editor's Choice).
